- START GR331347 Cross Roads by phone box in Traquair (small car park)
- Follow signpost for Southern Upland Way. Climb steadily into forest then for another 300m to junction with forest track. Turn right and follow purple markers to edge of forest for 4.2km
- Turn left and climb/carry steeply back up round edge of forest to top of ridge. (355312). Turn left at wall along narrow ride for 1.5km to open area. Change to other side of wall and carry on to Minch Moor Summit. Go straight over summit and descend to meet the SUW at (360335)
- Turn right and descend for 1.5km over ruts and cross drains (take care) to a x-
roads. Straight on to edge of forest at (380328) - Fork right along Minchmoor Road (signed) and enjoy a wonderful section of riding through several gates before a descent down a stony track to the A708 at Yarrowford (406300)
- Turn right and follow the A708 for 6km to Deuchar. At a small sign for Deuchar turn right through a galvanised gate. Climb up stony track. After 1.5km cross marshy ground to a sheepfold. Keep right of this and keep to singletrack climbing to col at (354300)
- Continue NW after col down grassy track and then mixed ground to a river crossing then a gate near Glengaber.
- Head SW at first from the gate on a faint track , then opposite white house turn north towards a black shed across a derelict bridge to climb through gates to a T-
junction. Turn right and follow improving track for 4km back to the start.
