- START GR148856 junction of minor road & B6343
- Follow the B6343 W for 700m to a track on the left. Head down this rutted track. At the end of the track do not enter the field, but keep left onto a narrow single-track which winds through the woods alongside the river to a footbridge at Rivergreen Mill (137847). Cross the bridge and pass by the buildings to the tarmac road. Trend left and up a short steep hill to a T-junction. (137843)
- Turn right for 1.6km then turn left up the hill to Meldon (119838). Fork right after the church then take the next right to a farm at (110830). Turn left through a farm gate and follow a tarmac road to Howlett Hall Farm. Go through another gate straight ahead and cycle along the edge of the field for 250m to a gate on the left. Go through this onto a grass covered track which leads after several gates to Low Angerton (0938420
- Head N for 1.1km to a T-junction then turn right until you see a footbridge on the left. Cross the river by the bridge, (or take the ford alongside). Climb steeply up to join the B6343.
- Opposite is a bridleway across a field. Ahead is a 5-barred gate. However take the gate on the left onto a soft track which skirts the left hand side of the fence. Follow this keeping left of the plantations to a minor road at (103877)
- Turn right for 1km then left for 1km. Turn off the road onto the track leading to Longshaws Farm (120883), and stay with this to a road at (130891). Head N then take the first right through Pigdon to a T-junction at (166884)
- Turn right for 1.2km then first right again. After 500m there is a signed bridleway to Mitford. Turn left along this. After a while the track turns left, then right to follow original line (not so obvious) along the edge of a field. This leads to a broken down gate and stile. Welcome to Clarty-Land. You will descend the worlds muddiest deepest rutted track. At the bottom turn left after the gate and climb up to a farmhouse. Pass in front of the building and descend to a ford to emerge in Mitford Village. Turn right and follow the road back to the start.
