- START GR110337 Car Park on Belford Main Street
- Cycle NW up Main St. then left on B6349 for 250m. Take bridleway on right past Westhall Farm and Craggyhall. Pass lime kiln and follow edge of field to gate. Go through gate and take path through wood. Turn left at track to a minor road leading to Swinhoe Farm (083350)
- Follow straight on for 1.5km. Enter wood and fork right on good track for 1.9km past St. Cuthbert’s Cave (059352). Keep straight on round hill and join farm track at (045361). Turn right past Raven’s Crag and follow good track through trees and then on to Greymare Farm (072361)
- Go straight on through Detchant. At the Lodge go straight across onto track to A1. Cross A1 and continue over railway line past trees to a bridge over Elwick Burn (099375)
- Bear right through grass to minor road. Turn right on the road and fork right after 2.2km. After another 1.7km turn right again over a level-
crossing to the A1 at (115347) - Cross A1 (offset tarmac footpaths) then straight on to return to Belford. Turn left at the end of the main street and keep straight on after the church to return to the start.
