- START GR 661502 Car Park in Dunsop Bridge
- Turn west across the river to a T-
junction. Turn left for 2km then right before the bridge over the river. Climb for 1.5km . 200m before the high point turn right onto a bridleway (646469) - Follow bridleway to wooden sheds and continue bearing right on the track. After 200m turn right onto a bridleway leading through a wood onto a farm track and through a gate. Climb up to a saddle at (644495). Keep straight on and descend down grassy track to Hareden Farm. Turn right to the road.
- Turn left and follow the road for 2.4km to an old barn at (627523). Turn right onto a bridleway and climb alongside wall. After 800m turn right between to stands of trees and climb steeply up through gate to top of Whin Fell.
- Trend steadily left keeping to track, and descend to a gate at the end of a wall to Brennand Farm (645541). Go through farm gates and back yard to track. Turn left to bridge. Cross bridge and fork left then immediately right onto a track.
- Follow this parallel to the stream. The track disappears but keep on following marker posts and descend steeply to a gate above Whitend Farm (660550). Cross the bridge into the farmyard. After the farm, fork left up a very steep climb. As gradient eases fork right and follow marker posts to a gate at (674545)
- Fork left following marker posts across the moor keeping high and left of the valley but descending to a road at (692549)
- Turn right and follow road to T-
junction. Turn right and descend to Newton Village (695504). Turn right and follow the road back to the start.
