- START GR 214933 Car Park near Seathwaite
- Head East on a grassy track. Cross over track and descend to stream. Stay on the singletrack as it contours round the spur via a saddle at (224922). Keep above Carter ground on undulating track, swinging north above Jackson Ground to a wall at (231932)
- Cross the stream and follow wall. At end of wall bear right for 200m. Go through gate onto a walled track leading to Stephenson Ground (235932)
- Swing left following bridleway along wall at first then parallel to river and forest to a saddle at (243949). Continue heading NNE across boggy area (indistinct path) and pick up track again through mine workings. Now follow wall to junction with Walna Scar Road (250963) Turn left and follow this for 1km to road junction. Head left along road to Seathwaite (228959)
- Go through Seathwaite until the road bends sharp right, but go straight on through a gate onto a good track. Follow this out of the woods and climb to a wall which is followed to the top of the climb. Keep straight on, to the road at (216929) then turn left back to the start.
