- START GR421953 Car Park on The Long Mynd (There are more accessible places to start, but it is worth starting here for the views)
- Turn NE from the car park along a bridleway (Marches Way) for 900m to a right fork signposted Carding Mill. Take this and descend down the valley to meet the B4270. (453942)
- Turn right for 2.3km then take the turning for Little Stretton. Follow minor roads through Minton to Hamperley (420893). Turn right at the cross-roads for 700m, then fork left onto a public right of way opposite a big house. Follow this to a stream. Go through the stream and up to the corner of the wood (408888)
- Follow the edge of the wood SW then carry straight on down to a stream. Continue on through a gate onto a better track. Follow this past two small valleys. When it peters out keep straight on above the woods to meet Jack Mytton Way at (384877)
- Turn right and enjoy the steep climb onto the ridge (it’s worth it!). Keep straight on joining a road at (405918)
- After 2km fork left onto a bridleway over Pole Bank (Trig. point).
- Keep straight on across a track to arrive back at the car park.
