- START GR 703873 Picnic site in Dent
- Turn left through Dent forking right at end of the main street. After 2km fork right up Deepdale Beck for 300m then sharp right up onto the Craven Way (724857)
- Climb steeply forever (angle eases after 2km). Descend to a gate and then more steeply down to the railway line at (762817). Cross and turn right following the line past buildings to a signed tunnel right. Go through this onto a tarmac track past the farm.
- Fork right to Scar End then continue SW past a staggered junction at (739790) past Ellerbeck Farm then gradually ascending to a high point at the end of the ridge (705760)
- Keep straight on before a zig-
zag down the steep section to a track. Turn right along the track, cross a ford and join a road at (692760) - Follow the road for 6km. 250m after the high point, turn left onto a track (723823). Climb to a saddle (boggy) then trend right contouring above Gastack Beck (walled lane). At (711846) take left fork descending gently.
- Descend into and climb out of Flinter Gill (699859) then turn right immediately after to descend steeply back to Dent Village. Turn left back to the start.
