- START 495073 Visitor Centre at end of Loch Katrine.
- Buy a ferry ticket to Stronachlachar. Only one ferry each day calls there (currently departing at 10.30am—summer only £13.50 single in 2014) so you must do the route this way round or face a long return journey (see route 2 in this area)
- Ferry to Stronachlachar Pier (405103)
- Cycle along the pier turning right through the village to join a surfaced cycle way which skirts the edge of the loch to the end of the loch at (380134)
- Cycle round the end of the loch . After 2.5km the track ascends and leaves the loch edge, before descending back to the water at (437103)
- You cannot go wrong, just follow the cycle way undulating, all the way back to the visitor centre.
