- START GR494073 Car Park at the end of Loch Katrine (Bike hire available)
- Leave by the surfaced track at the North end of the car park. This track undulates round the North edge of the loch for 13km before swinging round along the south shore to Stronachlachar(402104)
- Leave the loch edge and 500m after the pier road turn left on the B829. Climb gently then descend. After 2.5km and just after a mile-post marker turn right up a forestry access road. Follow this round past the corner of a clearing to the edge of Loch Chen (414060)
- Skirt the loch to arrive at a large house overlooking Loch Dhu. Bear right and climb taking the left fork after 300m. Continue SE along forest tracks. After 2.5km a steep climb is folowed by a descent to buildings and a junction at (449005)
- Keep straight on climbing up to a T-junction. Turn right along a waymarked cycle ride (red markers) and follow it to meet the B829 at Milton (502013)
- Turn right to Aberfolyle. At the junction with the A821 turn right and climb steeply up. After 300m turn right through a barrier onto a surfaced track which zig-zags up past the visitor centre. Follow this waymarked route through the forest where it jlins the Achray Forest Drive at (525023)
- Follow the Forest Drive down and round Loch Drunkie. Stick with it Eventually reach the shore of Loch Achray. After another 1km the forest drive bends left. Go straight on through the camp site to join the A821 at (512062). Turn right for 1km. Then left for 1km back to the start.
