A route of farm tracks and minor roads with a lovely coastal section
- START GR205143 Denwick Church
- Cycle along the lane from the church, which soon bears right and descends into and then up out of a dip (often muddy). Continue up to the A1068.
- Turn left on the A-road and take the first farm track right which leads to the infamous stepping stones at Hawkhill (216118) Do not cross here after heavy rain
- Climb up after the crossing and follow the track to a minor road at Greenrigg (217112)
- Follow the minor road past Alnmouth Station, across the A1068 and in to Alnmouth.
- At the church take the road trending left and uphill to a T-junction at (247122). Turn right here and follow the tarmac road to Boulmer
- At Boulmer go straight on onto the coastal cycle track which is easily followed to Howick
- Turn inland to Howick Hall gate (250175). At the gate take the bridleway to the right through a gate and along the edge of a field. At the end of the field turn left through a small gate into the wood and follow the narrow path which leads to a track at (245184) Turn right along the edge of the field (no obvious track )
- Turn right here and after 80 metres go left through a small gate into the field. Follow the edge of the field alongside the stream (marshy) go under the railway line and follow the track to Lee Moor Farm. Turn right in front of the farm houses and follow track to Rennington.
- Follow the B1340 for 100 metres then turn right towards the village centre. Turn first left up a very muddy track leading up to Rennington Moor (200173). Follow this track, turning left at each junction to arrive back at the B1340 at Denwick Lane end. Turn right and follow the B-road back to the start.
