OS Map 87 Hexham & Haltwhistle
A mixed route with some good technical singletrack and minor roads. Some steep hills
- START: Corbridge GR 988644
- Start from the church in the village centre. Take the B6321 Aydon road for 500 metres. Turn left up a track which turns into singletrack after the houses. Follow the track round to the east to rejoin the B6321 where it crosses the A69T. Cross the bridge and turn immediately left down another singletrack.
- Turn right at the end, head across the open field and down into the dene (steep) continue up and out of the dene to Aydon Castle.
- Follow minor roads to (994674) then turn right up a muddy trackwhich meets the A68 near a former inn. Turn right and immediately left to Sandhoe
- Immediately after Sandhoe turn right and climb steeply up to a T junction. Turn left and then straight on at the X-roads to GR (954676). Turn right up the track to Codlaw Hill, then left down the minor road to a crossroads at (944673)
- Turn right downhill and take the first right towards the caravan site. Where the track bends left turn right up a track through the woods. Follow this trending right until it becomes a grassy track leading to Fallowfield. Turn left and swoop down to Acomb
- Turn left at Acomb main street and first right down a narrow path which leads to a crossroads at (935656). Follow minor roads through Oakwood and Anick back to Corbridge.
