- START GR267238 Car Park for Keswick Swimming Pool
- From the car park cycle past the old railway station onto a disused railway path which follows the river Greta for 5km emerging on the A66 at (315248) near Threlkeld.
- Cross the A66 (take care) and take the minor road which descends and then climbs steadily past Burns Farm. As the road descends it swings right. Take the second left after Burns Farm -
signposted to Castlerigg Stone Circle. Take the next left after 350m and climb steadily. Where the road levels out take time off to visit the stone circle just acroos the field. - Carry straight on—a mega descent on tarmac, but take care especially at the bottom where the road rejoins the main road into Keswick.
- Follow this busy road into Keswick past Fitz Park, turning right to cross the river Greta just before the Youth Hostel.
- This urban road leads back to the Leisure Complex Car Park.
