- START GR267238 Car Park for Keswick Swimming Pool
- From the car park cycle past the old railway station onto a disused railway path which follows the river Greta for 5km emerging on the A66 at (315248) near Threlkeld.
- Cycle just off the A66 for 100m then take the minor road into Threlkeld. In the centre of the village at (320254) turn left towards the Blencathra Centre and climb steadily for 2km to the road end just past the Centre. After a well earned rest, keep straight on on a rough track which contours the left side of the Glenderatera valley to cross the beck at (296278)
- Climb steeply up the other side of the valley to meet the track coming from Skiddaw House. Turn left on this track which returns down contouring the other side of the valley. Some difficult technical sections.
- Eventually the track bears right before descending to Whit Beck (283259). Climb and descend through gates to the Latrigg Car Park. Just after this turn left through a gate onto a Bridleway which drops quickly (Mega descent, but take great care, there are dangerous drainage culverts crossing the path in the lower stages—do not take these at speed)
- The single-track becomes a wider track, and after crossing over the A66 meets a minor road at (267242)
- Turn left and first right to return to the start
