Dolgellau & Llyn Erddyn

START GR 728180 Car Park in Dolgellau
From the north corner of the car park go down the ramp to join the Mawwdach Trail. Follow the trail for 1km before crossing the river by the Doctor Williams Bridge. Take the ramp to the left along the north bank of the river as far as the A493 at (715183)
Cross the A road and go through the car park and over the cantilevered bridge. Follow the old railway track to the toll bridge across the estuary at (695185). Turn right here for 1km to join the A496. Turn left along the A496 as far as the Bontddu Hotel (673189).
Turn right and climb steadily up the minor road until it ends at a sharp left turn with parking spaces. Go through a gate onto a rocky track and climb up z-bends. Take the left fork at a milestone , past the forest, over a river and up to the summit (Thank God for that!)
Follow the obvious track straight down to a junction at Pont Fadog (609225). Turn right and climb steadily up towards Llyn Erddyn, then trending left back down to a track junction 20m above the bridge over Afon Ysgethin, Pont Scethin (636234)
Turn right here steeply up SE then SW trending S to the a gap in the wall at the top of the ridge at (637224). Keep on the track for a good descent back to rejoin the earlier route.
