- START GR 794485 Car Park beside Llyn Brianne Reservoir
- From the car park turn left and cycle down to the road. Turn left and follow the road for 1.5km. As the road swings left turn right onto a forest track (805490). Follow this climbing steadily for 2.8km to a junction (825481).
- Turn right then straight on after 500m to another junction at (828472). Keep right here and then trend left at the next hairpin junction (830467). After 600m fork right then swing left along the valley to a bend at (856477) As the track levels take the bridleway right down steeply to the river. Cross the river and climb up to a house (860477)
- Follow the road down to a Chapel then turn left and follow the road for over 5km along the valley towards Abergwesyn. Just before the river turn left through a white gate (853526). Climb up a forest track past several sharp bends to a junction at (840526). Turn left and follow this forking left to another T-
junction. Turn left to eventually reach the road at (810516) - Turn right along the reservoir to a bridge and take the road signed Soar y Mynydd and follow this up to a multi-
way junction and a small Chapel - At the Chapel turn almost due W onto a clear track and climb up onto open moor. Begin to descend quite steeply. At (757534) look for a faint track to the left. This is easy to miss and is just before the last steepest part of the track.
- Follow this single track through grass and bracken as it undulates alongside the Afon Doethie valley for nearly 6km until it eventually joins a farm track at Troed-
rhiw- ruddwen. (768480) - Follow the track to the farm, through a gate and across the farmyard onto a track heading NE.
- Climb steeply up for just over 1km (Phew!) before descending to the edge of the lake, and the track you started on.
- Turn right to return to the dam and the car park.
