- START GR 256856 Parking space alongside Redmires Reservoir
- From the end of the road round the reservoir take the old Roman road past Stanage Pole to Stanage Edge. Follow the rocky track below the Edge past Buck Stone to join a minor road at a car park at (227844)
- Turn right taking a right fork after 300m and follow the road to a junction with an unmade track at (214839). Turn left and descend steeply to Bamford. Turn left up a minor road taking the first road right past the golf course to A6013 at (207826)
- Turn left over railway bridge then right and right again past the High Peak Garden Centre. Immediately after this turn left over the river to Shatton. Take first left signposted Westfield. Straight on where road ends. After stream climb trending right to Offerton Hall. Trend left and contour to Dunge Brook then up and along a track to Highlow Hall.
- Turn right along the minor road to Abney. Take the next right just before the phone box, and nest right at T-
junction. To join a walled track at (192806). Follow this to mast before bearing left to tarmac road back to Shatton. - Retrace earlier route via station to (212830). Turn right here and at next T-
junction turn left on minor roads to (226840) - Retrace the route to the car park at (227844) and back via Stanage Edge to the start.
