- START GR270623 Picnic area on B5057
- Turn left onto the B5057 as far as the A6 . Cross straight over (care!) and continue on the B5057, up the hill to a stony track left after a terrace of houses. Follow this through the woods to a minor road at (292655). Go straight on for 700m to another crossroads. Turn left for 1.2km to a bend at the edge of a plantation.
- Turn right and follow the track round the woods then across to meet the B6012 at (263685). Turn right to follow the road through Chatsworth Park. After 1.3km turn left across an open field following bridleway posts. At top go through the gate with the information sign, through the plantation and follow signs (Rowsley) and blue markers round a coppice to another plantation at (242681).
- Follow track through a clearing, bearing left towards electricity poles. After 120m bear right through stone posts . Turn left and descend alongside wall then down to a 4-way junction at (243670). Take the second right then fork right past Bowling Green Farm. At the farm take the narrow bridleway which goes round an old viaduct to meet the A6 at (227669)
- Follow the A6 S for 1km, and opposite Haddon Hall take the track signposted Youlgreave. Keep straight on alongside the wall when the track ends. At an iron gate join a track down to the river cross the river to a minor road and climb .Turn left to the church. Cross straight over and fork left to a track at Braemar House.
- Descend and cross the river bear left then right to arrive at a x-roads of tracks (219639). Keep straight on past Lower greenfields Farm to another. Ignore Private sign and go through small iron gate to a bridleway. Head right across the field to a gate and across the next field to a road. Straight over aiming for mast. At tree-line bear right down to a gated bridge over the stream to the B5056. (230634)
- Turn right and fork left after 700m to climb up to Birchover. Turn left at the pub for 200m then right down a road to Upper Town Farm. Turn left along a descending track leading to Darley Bridge. Turn left back to the start.
