- START GR 969472 Minehead Harbour (Metered Parking)
- Continue NW to the end of the road into the woods. Turn left at second junction and then after a short climb turn right onto a gravel track. Keep straight on past off-set crossroads (signed North Hill). On leaving woods turn sharp left and climb to a x-roads. Follow the sign to Bossington as far as a junction just W of Selwothy Beacon (915480)
- Go straight ahead then follow way-markers left, then downhill (250m), then sharp left. At end of singletrack section bear right towards Lynch Combe descending to the road at West Lynch which is followed to the A39 (905467)
- Turn right for 300m then left onto a track through hedges for 500m. Bear right to a footbridge and then turn left onto the road. Follow a sign to the filter station, climbing steeply to a fork. Keep left for 800m to a way-mark (Flora’s Ride) and follow the stony track keeping right at a junction. After 1km turn left and descend through the woods to Horner Water. Cross the bridge and prepare for some carrying up through the wood bearing right at the top to a walled lane. Go through the farmyard and turn left on the road for 1km to a T-junction (074321)
- Follow the road to a junction at (861411) then turn sharp left up the track towards Dunkery Beacon. Follow this over the top and all the way down to the road at (928431). Turn left and immediately right to Wooton Courtney. Pass through the village to a bend at (9474330 Turn left up a stony track and stay on this track past z-bends to a junction at (952441)
- Turn left to reach a trig point. 50m before the trig point a way-marked bridleway leads off to the left. Follow this all the way to the road at (955457). Turn right for 200m then left following the road back into Minehead. Turn left at the railway station and follow the road back to the harbour.

This is a long and arduous route with more climbing than Ben Nevis (over 4,700 ft!!). Most can be ridden but there is a steep carry up from Horner Water to Stoke Pero.
