- START GR154410 Car Park in Holford
- Follow the road through the village towards a lay-by for the A39 at (157408). Just before the lay-by turn right through the gate onto a bridleway which climbs up past a junction to the top of Woodlands Hill. Trend right and descend to the saddle (156398) Fork left and climb steeply to the site of the Hill Fort on Downsborough. 150m after the summit turn sharp right and descend to the road at (162388)
- Follow the road past the car park at Crowcombe Park Gate and turn almost immediately left onto a broad track leading to another car park at Triscombe Stone (163360)
- Turn left after the car park for 150m up the road then turn right through a barrier onto a forest trail. Follow this down into a ravine then back out and contour round the hillside to for 1.5km to arrive at a gate (180357)
- Turn right through the gate and follow the track up then down bearing right to return to the Triscombe car park. Retrace the route to Cowcombe. Go through the car park and straight on along a sandy track climbing across the moor before descending to a major junction at a large saddle (141384)
- Continue on the main track for another 2.3km to a major junction of tracks at Bicknoller Post (128404) Turn sharp right and descend steeply into Lady’s Edge. Follow the stream down Hodders Combe to return to the start.
