A short but entertaining route. Granny gear needed for one short climb
- START GR 926118 Selhurst Park Picnic Site
- Head East along the road to meet the A285 at (939120). Go straight across onto a Bridleway. Follow this through the woods as it climbs steadily up. Ignore all tracks to the left until a barrier is reached at the join with Stane Street (967127). Turn left for 400 metres, and then left again at the car park. Follow this stony track up to masts at (965133)
- From the masts keep straight on descending steeply to the edge of the woods. Turn right at the wood corner and then left onto a bridleway which climbs and skirts Farm Hill before descending to a cross-
roads at (963152) - Go straight on and skirt Barlavington Down. After a short, steep descent turn left onto a signed bridleway, keeping left at the next junction to reach the A285 at (945158)
- Right on the A285, then quickly left on to a good track leading to Duncton Quarry. This track swings left then right as it contours, leading to a junction with the south Downs Way. (943156) Go straight on, and continue to follow this track going straight ahead at each junction until it emerges from the trees and descends to East Dean (908131)
- Turn left along the road to the car park at Droke (924127). Turn right through the barrier and climb steeply up through the trees to reach the road just a few metres from the start.
