A fine route with good single-
Navigation needs care because of the abundance of trails in the area
- START GR 131433 Car Park off Wotton Common—Junction with Greensand Way
- Where Greensand Way crosses the minor road Leith Hill Road, turn due west for 200m along Greensand Way. At the corner of the forest/open area leave the main trail and head on down through the woods past Upfolds Farm to meet the B2126 at (114433)
- Turn left for 200m and then right onto a marked bridleway which meets tarmac at Holmbury Hill Road. Turn right for 200m and then left up a steep bridleway leading to a five way junction. Go straight on, bearing left at the next fork and keeping straight on, down—up—down to a junction at (447097).
- Turn right here and follow track, road then tarmac to the B2126 at (106455). Turn right and follow the B2126 through the village to the pond at (112443). Just before the pond turn left up a difficult steep climb. At junction keep right and up to the road. Then turn left to a X-
roads at (121452). Go straight over into Abinger Common Road bearing right, but almost immediately turn left up another bridleway. Follow this to Mill Pond. Turn right at the pond, and at the end of the tarmac road carry straight on to rejoin Abinger Common Road at (127448). Turn left on the road, but straight on at the bend (houses) along Abinger Bottom. - Turn left on Leyland’s Road to (132443) -
end of wood on right. Take the track to the left diverging from the road to Home Farm. Take the left fork of two bridleways leading to a x- roads with Wolvens Lane (140459). Turn left and follow the track all the way to the A25 at ( 135483) - Turn right on the bridleway cossing one minor road to another near Westcott Church. Turn right down Logmore lane and follow the road to woods at (148468) Turn right towards Squires Farm. Turn left after the farmyard and after 200m turn left to contour before descending to Merriden Cottage. Rejoin Wolvens Lane and continue to Crockers Farm (151441). Turn right behind the houses and steeply up past the cricket square and on to Leith Hill Tower. Straight on and descend to the road. Turn right to return to the start
