This route can be very strenuous in wet and heavy conditions
- START GR573035 Car Park near top of Clay Bank
- Leave the car park and cycle up the road to the high point. Turn left over a style and follow the Cleveland ridge steeply up (carry needed but its worth it) for 500m before the gradient eases and cycling becomes possible. Continue to follow the Cleveland Way to Bloworth Crossing (615015).
- Turn right at the gate and follow the track SE for 3.5km to a cross roads with a pile of stones.(634986)-easy to miss. Turn right down a faint track and descend down a track which narrows past the edge of the woods to emerge on a minor road near Cow Sike (good descent)
- Turn right and follow the road round and down over a stream. Turn left just over the stream and continue to follow the road across the meadow and then steadily up (taking right fork) tuntil the gradient eases (610963).
- Turn sharp right along a good track heading North then swinging NW over Slape Wath Moor. Followed by a steep descent and climb in and out of Tripsdale Beck (582988)
- After the climb continue to follow the edge of the escarpment contouring round Urra Moor to (582022) before swinging left and descending to rejoin the Cleveland Way at (579032).
- Retrace your steps to the start.
