- START GR852028 Small car park on B road Just off A169
- Go SE along overgrown track to the A169. Straight across, track continues over open moor, bearing right at track junction to reach a trig point at (887992) Continue to the Guide Post and then turn left down singletrack keeping the trees and stream to your left.
- At (899018) turn right along a wider track to footpath sign> Turn right and then bear left for 500m. At this point the bridleway crosses, but I could not find it. Take a bearing across the moor of 066 degrees to a crossroads of tracks at (914032) Thorn Key Wath. Turn right along the stream to the A171 at (916028)
- Turn right along the A171 for 450m then at high point turn left through Ives Farm. At a strip of trees turn left and follow track to Ramsdale Mill (926035). Cross the river, climb up and trend right skirting Oak Wood to road at (936044)
- Stay on road keeping left at each junction to rejoin the A171 at (922046). Go straight over through gate onto indistinct bridleway. Head for marker post and then head SW for woods to meet the B1416 at (909040). Turn right for 1.6km to a 5-way junction. Take the track past Newton farm. Descend to river and climb to Foss Farm (885032) Turn right behind buildings and right again at next junction to descend then climb to Leas Head Farm. Take two left turns and climb to a track at (880035). Follow the track round to a gate with a bridleway sign right. Turn right (no track) to gate and cross the next field diagonally to another gate. Continue between walled track bearing right at next gate onto moor.
- Continue NE towards pylons to meet a good track beneath the pylons. Turn left on this to a track junction at then turn right for 1km to the A169
- Turn left and take the first road right back to the start.
