- START GR 514830 Sutton Bank Visitor Centre
- From the centre take the minor road North for 1.2km to (519842) Turn left and then right before Dialstone Farm along a bridleway leading to the Cleveland Way (nice views over Gormire Lake)
- Turn right and follow the edge of the escarpment until it intersects with tarmac near Sneck Yate. Turn left down the road then almost immediately right through a gate onto a track descending through the forest. After just under 1km go through another gate onto a narrow tarmac road and climb up past High Paradise to join Hambleton Road.
- Turn left and follow this good track for 3km to an obvious x-roads of tracks Turn right and follow the track to Thorodale wood. At the point where the track steepens, just by an outcrop, a bridleway forks right up and across a field to a gate. Aftern this follow the wall S passing the edge of Gowerdale wood and crossing a good track to reach a minor road at (513882)
- Turn left on the road to a T-junction at Murton Grange. Turn right for 700m. Where the road swings left go through a gate onto a track which steepens. Take the left fork down to a wooden bridge over a boggy area.. Go straight on up the hill (very steep - you will need to get off and push)
- At the top follow the edge of the field to a gate at (532861). Go straight across and follow a clear track down and up to another road. Straight ahead again and follow the hedge down, through a gate and then climb up past houses to emerge opposite Cold Kirby Church.
- Turn left and follow the road past the junction and all the way back to the visitor centre.
- The café in the visitor centre is to be recommended.
